The CBI on Friday conducted searches at the residence of BJP MP from Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Natubhai Gomanbhai Patel, in connection with amassing assets worth over Rs 2.18 crore disproportionate to his known sources of income as member of civic bodies.
The sleuths reached the South Avenue residence of the BJP lawmaker here and at his Silvassa residence in the Union Territory early on Friday morning, a CBI spokesperson said here.
When contacted, Patel who was in Silvassa, said that CBI officials did come to his residence but he had no information why the searches were carried out.
