The oath of service

The programme commenced with the procession of the student representatives, who wore white sarees and walked towards the stage with a smile on their faces. It was followed by a devotional hymn Standing on the promises of the God... in chorus voice.

The chief guest Prof Agnes Madhuravani, president of YWCA, lit the lamp and called upon the student community to build up leadership qualities. “A good leader leads but a great leader inspires others and becomes a role model. These students representatives are the ambassadors of remaining 2,500 students,” she said. Prof Hemalatha John, another guest advised the students to take part in extracurricular activities. The student council participated in the swearing-in-ceremony and assured to lead the students and serve the college. The 120 student representatives have been elected from both Pre University and Degree through the use of Electronic Voting Machines.

Gifty Joel of final year BSc and Kavya Edward of third year BBM have been elected as the president and vice president respectively.

Principal Dr Joyce Sunder welcomed the gathering and introduced the guests. Sumita Kumar and  Rita Josephine compered the event.
