The faction led by Channa Reddy has also called off the stir. G R Shanmugappa, President of FKSLOAA said, “The government has assured us that the Tamil Nadu model of sand distribution will be introduced in Karnataka.”
The customer stands to benefit as cost of sand will come down by Rs 3,000 per lorry load, from the existing Rs 12,000 to Rs 9000, Shanmugappa said.
The State government has also assured truck operators that harassment by Revenue Department officials would be stopped and has also suggested that all trucks, involved in transportation of construction materials (sand and jelly stones) are painted yellow in colour to distinguish them from regular trucks.
