Chief executive officer of an FM Radio company was arrested for allegedly molesting one of his female employees three months ago, police said on Tuesday.

The arrest took place three months after a complaint was lodged as the suspect was transferred to Mumbai. The accused was released on bail hours after he was arrested.

According to sources, the case was registered only on Monday, despite the complainant having approached police earlier in December.  A case of molestation under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code was registered.

The incident took place during a trip to Rajasthan in early December, 2011.
Police’s briefChittaranjan Park Police said the complainant had approached them in December but they could arrest the suspect only on Monday as he had been transferred to another radio branch in Mumbai.

He was involved in a similar incident earlier, police added. Owing to the suspect’s position in the company, the complainant approached police after some time. This is the reason that a case could only be lodged on February 27. He was arrested on Monday, but since molestation is a bailable offence, he was released on bail.
