BJP, Cong fooling people with false promises: HDK

JD(S) will implement permanent irrigation project, unlike BJP and Congress governments, who have been fooling people with false assurances, said former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy at a convention of the party workers of teachers’ constituency for the Legislative Council polls at government school in Bagepalli on Sunday.

He asked the members to support JD(S) candidate in election for the Legislative Council Constituency.

He also said that in JD(S) tenure, farmers’ loan was waived of and the party honestly had tried to implement permanent irrigation project and increase pension amount of physically challenged and elderly persons. But he accused BJP of not providing basic facilities to farmers and daily wage workers and said it is being anti-people by not even trying to produce electricity in accordance to the demand.

Speaking on the occasion, he said, Union Ministers Veerappa Moily and K H Muniyappa have failed in giving a permanent solution to the water problems in Kolar and
Chikkaballapur.

“Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda and Union Minister Veerappa Moily are speaking in favour of implementing Etthinahole project. But in reality, this one tmc water also cannot be supplied to the drought-hit districts,” he said.

“I will visit rural villages in Kolar and Chikkaballapur for three days and will speak to people and collect details of the problems they are facing,” he added.

Former minister K M Krishnareddy, M Zameer Ahmed, Legislator K P Bacchegowda, JD(S) State Womens’ Unit president Jyothi Reddy, JD(S) District Unit president M Rajanna and others were present at the convention.
