Improve quality of education: Revanna

Former minister H D Revanna said the quality of the primary education is getting worse every year and it is high time the government and department of education take steps to improve the quality of education.

Speaking at a programme organised by the department of education at Ambedkar Bhavan on Wednesday, he felicitated the members of school development committees and also inaugurated the district-level matric mela , kalikoparana mela and a workshop.

The government has released Rs 1.41 crore for government teachers medical expenses. It should also concentrate on improving the basic amenities of the schools. The government has been attempting to close the schools citing poor attendance of the students. This has to be reviewed, he added.

Hassan district tops the state in education. There are great opportunities to learn higher education in the fields of technical, medical, dental and agriculture.

ZP president B R Sathayanarayana, vice president Sulochana Ramakrishna, principal, P Padmamma of DIET and others participated.

While the students who won the matric mela began their shandy outside Ambedkar Bhavan, students performed various experiments at the science expo.
