After BJP MLA, CBI grills his representative in Masood case

Last Updated 11 March 2012, 10:55 IST

CBI today questioned Arun Pandey, BJP MLA Dhruv Narayan Singh's `representative', for nearly three hours in connection with the RTI activist Shehla Masood murder case.

"CBI had called me today for questioning, following which I came to the agency's office," Pandey told PTI.

"The agency officials questioned me about the MLA's relationship with them (Masood), but I told them I have not seen them meeting, or have no information about their relationship," he said.

However, Pandey added, "I told the CBI that Zahidaji (an accused) used to come to the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (MPTDC) office, as she was a listed architect of the Corporation."

Pandey said that he told CBI that Zahida, who has been arrested in the case, used to visit the office to discuss the projects she was doing with the MPTDC.

Dhuruv Narayan is a former Chairman of MPTDC, which had hired Zahida for executing some development works.

Shehla too was close to the MLA, and had managed his poll campaign, the CBI sources said. According to CBI, Zahida hired killers to eliminate Shehla out of jealousy, as she resented Shehla's growing closeness to Dhruv.

Earlier last week, the agency had questioned Dhruv Narayan Singh for nearly six hours at its Bhopal office.

CBI has also secured the court's permission to subject Zahida, her close associate Saba Faroqui, Saqib Ali and the MLA to polygraph test.

Shehla Masood was shot dead in front of her house in Bhopal on August 16, 2011.
