'BJP has released more funds for minorities'

Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation Chairman N B Aboobakar informed that the state government has released a sum of Rs 897.97 crore for the development of minorities.

He said about 12 lakh beneficiaries have been benefited from various development programmes.

Speaking to mediapersons, Aboobakar urged the people to make comparisons between the allotments made during the Congress rule and the BJP rule.

About 8.20 lakh students were given a scholarship of Rs 216 crore in the last three years. Loans are provided up to Rs 25000 to the students. 

A sum of 50 lakh has been released to community halls and shadi mahals. About 250 community halls has been built at the cost of Rs 43 lakhs till date.About 46 crore are released for Wakf properties. About 1,000 mosques are benefited under the programme, he added.

As many as 3,180 women belonging to minorities are employed under various schemes, he added.

He informed that about 15,000 religious heads belonging to 5,400 Mosques are receiving honorarium. The government had announced Rs 5 crores for the purpose, of which Rs 2 crore has been released.

Hajj Ghar is being built in Bangalore. The State government has announced Rs 50 crore for the development of Christian community. About 2,661 beneficiaries are benefited in Udupi district, while about 3,028 beneficiaries are offered facilities at the cost of Rs 5.28 crore in Chikmagalur district through the Corporation, he added.
