Two killed over property dispute

Victims were hacked to death; friend who rushed to their aid attacked too

According to police, a case was registered at the Devanahalli station last month regarding a dispute over a private land involving Subramani’s brother Nagaraju. The accused were pressurising Subramani to withdraw the case.

Subramani and Gowda were invited for a compromise. The accused, however, picked up a quarrel and hacked both to death. While Gowda was beheaded, serious injuries were inflicted the chest and stomach of  Subramani.

Meanwhile, Subramani’s friend Mohan Kumar, had gone to the former’s house as he wanted to give Subramani some money. He gave the money, watched television for sometime and departed. On the way, he was shocked to see Gowda and Subramani being attacked. The accused started attacking Kumar when he rushed for the rescue. However, he managed to escape with minor injuries.

Sources said Gowda was a farmer, while Subramani was into travels business. There existed an enmity between Subramani and three others .

Pedestrian killed

A pedestrian was killed on the spot when a speeding autorickshaw knocked him down in Byatarayanapura traffic police limits on Tuesday night. The deceased has been identified as Chowde Gowda (33).

The accident occurred near the Nayandanahalli petrol bunk when Gowda was returning home.  Chowde Gowda was a native of Mandya district and was working as a construction worker.
