Rowdy-sheeter held for murder


Police said Lohith Raj alias TC Raj, 33 years, was arrested in connection with the murder of RTI activist Venkatesh of Eeranapalya. The murder was executed as Venkatesh had launched a movement to save the BBMP land from the encroachment and had lodged complaints with the police, BBMP and the BDA.
On the fateful night of April this year, Venkatesh was returning home on his bike when he was intercepted and was murdered. To misguide the police, the assailants threw him on the road to make the case look like an accident. However, the post-mortem report revealed it a case of murder. Subsequently a case of murder was registered and hunt was launched for the murderer. Finally the police nabbed Lohith Rajnear Bidadi.

Lohith Raj is a resident of Veeraiyanapalya. There were six warrants against him, according to the police. He was also involved in a murder case under Vijayanagar station limits.

Kenyan held
The sleuths of Central Crime Branch nabbed three persons, including a Kenyan national, with narcotics, Rs 5 lakh cash and arms recently.
Police said, Pappajo alias Joseph Ouma Achola (39) of Migory City in Kenyan, Aijaz Saleem (44) of Jayamahal Layout and Arol Deepak D’Mello (28) of Halasur were nabbed on a tip off with 82 grams of Cocaine and 25 grams of Hashish, whose value in the market is said to be Rs nine lakh.

The police also recovered Rs 5.85 lakh and a Nissan car worth Rs 12 lakh from them and a German pistol.

Man murdered
A dispute between two men led to a clash between their children, eventually resulting in a murder at Sarjapura on Monday morning.
Police said Muniraj (50), a resident of Kalkere lost his life in a fight with the sons of his father’s rival. He was stabbed to death by Mani and Jayaram at Billapura under Sarjapura police station limits.
Last night, Muniraj’s father and Mani’s father had gone to a tavern where they had a fight. After returning home the fathers told their children about their fight. Next morning when the sons saw each other they had a fight. Mani and Jayaram stabbed the two brothers to death.
