Illegal constructions will be razed, warns CMC chief

He was speaking at a press conference organised at the auditorium of the City Municipal Council  under the chairmanship of CMC President M Bhaktavatsalam.
The BJP Kolar unit, President, Rajgopal, along with party members had stormed into the office of the City Municipla Council last Thursday.

They had alleged that there were various illegal constructions in the City Municipal Council limits and also that works carried out under the SFC grants were of poor quality. Responding to these allegation, Yarappa said: “All the illegal constructions in the CMC limits will be razed,” and assured that quality was maintained and monitored during every stage of works under SFC.

Apart from M Bhaktavatsalam, Assistant Executive Engineer Sridhar and other CMC officials were present.

Civic works worth Rs 7 lakh launched
KGF: CMC President M Bhaktavatsalam on Monday assured that special preference would be given to the development of roads in the City Municipal Council limits.
Speaking after inaugurating   civic works worth Rs 7 lakh at the 4th block here, he said: “Cement and tar roads will be laid using the funds released by the government under SFC scheme.” While saying that the CMC would ensure that citizens are not denied basic amenities, he said: “Many houses in the region get inundated during the rainy season, but  this year, we will avoid this by repairing the underground drainage system.”He also announced that works costing Rs 3 crore will be undertaken to build toilets in all the layouts.
