Delayed rain affects flow in Irpu falls

Last Updated 06 April 2012, 17:50 IST

Irpu falls, located in South Kodagu has always been a favourite picnic spots for tourists.

However, with the lack of rains the 100 feet fall which is known to gush and roar even during dry season is now flowing like docile stream.

Kodagu usually receives rain in February. After plucking coffee, the rains are like a boon to the growers as it leads to the budding of coffee flowers.

But this year, Kodagu has not seen a drop of rain even though April has arrived.

Due to this streams and rivers have dried.

Water sources are also dried up.

But, this has made no difference to the tourists, who still visit to see Irpu.
