In a clear case of fence eating the crop, four including the editor of a local daily were arrested on charges of playing matka at the newspaper office on Friday.
The accused have been identified as- Umashankar, editor of ‘Hassan Prabha,’ Kumar, Manju and Ravikumar. Acting on a tip off, police led by ASP Martin raided the office near Aralikatte Circle. A total of Rs 48,000 in cash and eight mobile phones have been seized from them.
IPL cricket betting
K R Police have arrested three on charges of betting for IPL cricket match, in Mysore on Thursday. The accused are Harish, Manju and Parashiva of Sunnadakeri. The police have recovered Rs 5,000 in cash and four cellphones.
