28 graduate from homoeopathy college

As many as 28 graduating students were awarded degrees at the convocation of the Government Homoeopathy College here on Wednesday.

Addressing the students on the occasion, AYUSH Department Director G N Srikantaiah said Homoeopathy has cure for many complicated disorders not found in the other forms medicine. He felt the need to have homoeopathic medicine in all government hospitals, so that even those in the rural areas can avail the benefit of this system of medicine.

“Through this system of medicine, many surgeries can be avoided, which makes it especially useful for those from the lower economic strata.”

Afshan Tabassum, who won the gold medal for this year said opportunities to establish oneself as a homoeopathic doctor were increasing in metropolitan areas. The student, who hails from Yadgir said her ambition was to popularise the form of medicine in smaller towns like hers.

“This form of medicine is cheaper. If those in rural areas are aware of the benefits of homoeopathy, I am confident that they will trust this better than any other form of medicine,” said Lavanya Arun, who won a silver medal.
