Army Red make merry of Green brethren

Army Red outclassed Army Green 8-2 in the Ozone Group-KSHA National Hockey League championship at the KSHA stadium here on Tuesday.

Armugam scored two goals, in the fifth and 47th minutes, while Sunil Ekka (34th), Mukesh Lakra (35th), Chittaranjan Singh (38th), Rinel Singh (49th), Santial Mundu (59th) and Rajesh Kumar (65th) struck a goal apiece for Army Red. Binoy Bhengra (58th) and Johny Jasrotia (65th) struck for the Greens.

The Reds stamped their authority over the Green outfit pretty early, with Armugam slamming home off a Dhananjay Mahadik pass to start the goalfest. Sunil was bang on target with a shot from the right to double the lead. Mukesh then produced another solo effort in the 35th minute with a powerful hit past Oran to make it 3-0. 

The second half saw the Red brigade consolidating their advantage. Chittaranjan did a tap-in for the fourth goal off a Sunil crossed from the right. Armugam came to the party again with a superb shot past Oran. After Rinel converted a PC in the 49th minute for the sixth goal, Binoy pulled one back for Army Green with a deflected shot from a Temson Singh pass. 

Santial and Rajesh then struck the final two goals for the Reds while Johny pulled another one back for Green in between.
