Bizomania 2K12’, a two-day national-level fest organised by Acharya Business B School, was recently held at the college campus. The fest was attended by 22 teams, representing colleges from both within the state and beyond. With equal emphasis on both management and cultural events, the fest offered students a variety of platforms on which to showcase their skills.

Apart from the academic aspect of it, the fest also included a cultural programme called ‘Blastainment’. Students from all the colleges took part in various events, such as the group dance competition, the rock band round and even put up little skits. One of the judges for the cultural programme was Sushma Sudarshan, a bharatanatyam dancer. A fashion show, comprising three rounds, was held as well. 11 students from Acharya Business B School dressed in their very best and took to the ramp to showcase their skills. They showcased a range kanjivaram and designer saris, as well as a few trendy salwar kameezes — all in all, it was a colourful and creative display.

There was also a mime competition, based on the theme ‘Save Water’, in which the students of ABBS stole the first prize for their creative presentation of the topic. In the dance competition, the team ‘Nexus Group’ from AABS performed a contemporary dance number which won the first prize, will the team from Oxford College, comprising Abhishek and his group, bagged the second with their fusion number, which had the audience tapping their feet along with the rhythm. The students of the college also put up a short skit with a strong anti-ragging message, which impressed the judges with both its quality as well as the theme behind it.

Several management events were also held as a part of the fest, such as ‘Chanakya’s Apprentice’, ‘Perspicatity’, ‘Stratagem’ and ‘Philanthrope’. Jain College emerged as the overall winners, with other colleges such as SRN Adarsh College, BMS College of Engineering, Acharya Institute of Technology, Presidency College, Indus Business Academy, ISBR and AEGIS School of Telecommunications also winning some prizes.
