Three held for robbery

Hanumanthnagar police arrested three men on charges of robbery and recovered 12 gold chains, one autorickshaw and a two-wheeler, all valued at Rs 20.45 lakh. Ibrahim Pasha, Syed Ismail, and Fazal Pasha, all residents of Goripalya, are the arrested.

On checking the records of an autorickshaw parked near Srinagar bus stop recently, the police found out that it was tampered with. On interrogation, the three sitting in the auto admitted to using the rickshaw to rob women of their gold chains. They also admitted to having stolen a bike from Jain College which they used to commit crime.

Ibrahim Pasha was imprisoned for similar crime in JB Nagar and Vijaynagar in 2009. However, he took to the same crime after he came out of the prisons.

Syed Ismail, who runs a workshop on pavement, would ride the autorickshaw to commit the crime. Fazal, a worker at a silver polish shop on CT Road in Raja Market, would sell the gold chains, added the police.

4 arrested for prostitution

Three women, including a television actress, were arrested for allegedly involving in prostitution, during a raid on a house at Lottegollarahalli on Thursday night.

The police have also arrested a pimp, Partha, who was running the racket.
Sanjaynagar police have registered a case and are investigating the case.
