Two women were beaten and dragged out of the Guruvandana programme venue as they waved black flags to demonstrate their protest against Sonia Gandhi.

The protestors have been identified as Lakshmi Devamma and Jayalakshmi belonging to the Madiga Dandora group, which is demanding internal reservation for the Scheduled Castes.

As soon as the women raised the flag and their voices in protest, they were overpowered by the policemen and dragged out of the venue by their hair.

The Kyatasandra police have taken them to custody.

Sriram of Madiga Dandora State unit was arrested by the police as a preventive measure.
The police had stepped up its vigil at the venue as it had Intelligence report that the Dandoras may protest at the venue.
