Kampli legislator T S Suresh Babu has hit back at the BJP State President K S Eshwarappa, who had recently warned of issuing notice to partymen who participated in Sriramulu’s padayatra.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said, “We are waiting for Eshwarappa’s notice.”

Babu said he would not be cowed down by the threats. Eshwarappa had also threatened to issue notices to those who had identified themselves with Sriramulu during the recent Bellary Rural bypoll.

“Till today we have not received any notice. However, the answer is ready,” he said and added that he would not hesitated to quit the party if there were plans to suspend him.

“Eshwarappa doesn’t have any moral right to issue notice. The people of the State are eager to vote out BJP in the next elections,” he added.

The June 17 convention organised by Sriramulu in Bangalore will change the course of State’s politics, Babu said. Sriramulu is our leader and we are committed to his decisions, he added.

Replying to a question on Anil Lad who had offered to talk to Congress high command, if Sriramulu’s faction was interested in joining the party, he said.

“People know what kind of a politician Lad is.” Babu said there was no point speaking about Lad who was seen only during election time.
