Addressing a news conference on Wednesday, Ashok said that when the Datta peeta issue is a sensitive and controversial, these politicians had resorted to contempt of court by installing the idol of Datta and offering prayer in the cave premises in the pretext of initiation of repair works. He said that legal action must be taken against district administration too.
“The suspicion of the Vedike that Sangha Parivar is trying to change the structure which looks like a ‘Dargah’ proved out to be right by the incident that happened yesterday. There are no signs of retaining the religious and architectural status quo of 1989,” he said.
He said that the government has resorted to contempt of court on the pretext of repair of the cave and this matter will be brought to the notice of the apex court.
Vedike office-bearers Gaus Moiddin, Muslim Minority Youth Committee President Jamsid Khan among others were present.
