Artistes to take 'Sakala' to public

The state government is conducting a training programme to organise street plays in order to improve awareness among public about Sakala, the Citizens Services Guarantee Act.

Artistes from eight districts under Mysore region participated in the training programme held at Vivekananda Leadership Training Institute on the outskirts of the city at Hebbal Industrial Area.

Rangayana artiste Manjunath Belakere inaugurated the programme. He said the responsibility of actors is more in street plays. Actors need to be spontaneous and have to act in such a way that they interact with the audience.

He also urged the artistes to gain more information about Sakala before taking the scheme to the public. Otherwise, they would face embarrassment, he added.

Sakala was recently introduced by the state government in order to provide services within a stipulated time frame.

Training camp director Ravindranath Sirivara said artistes and public should be able to understand the schemes being offered by the government.
