Man suspects youth to have illicit affair with his mother, kills him

A 23-year-old man was arrested for killing a youth, who allegedly was having an illicit relationship with the accused’s mother, police said on Sunday.

Ankit Sharma was arrested from District Park at Paschim Vihar in west Delhi on Friday night, additional commissioner of police (west) V Renganathan said.

Police said they got a call from Uttam Nagar on May 9 that the body of a youth was lying on the roof of an under-construction house. The body was foundon the roof of the second floor of Shakir Hussain’s house. There were injuries on the head, and the body had lost a large amount of blood, police said.

Police also found an identity card near the body, which identified him as Ashish Dixit, who hails from Etah in Uttar Pradesh.

During investigation, police discovered that Dixit was living with his mother in a rented room at Mohan Garden in Uttam Nagar. His mother was a close friend of another resident Rajni Sharma, who was living in the same locality.

Two months ago, Dixit’s mother Pushpa Devi passed away due to an illness, following which he vacated the room and began to live with his maternal uncle in Rohini. Police said Dixit frequently visited Rajni’s house at odd hours. 

Ankit, Rajni’s elder son, suspected that Dixit had developed an illicit relationship with his mother. On May 8, Ankit went to Dixit’s house in morning. He caught hold of Dixit and took him to a nearby under-construction house and killed him. We raided Ankit’s house on suspicion but he was not there, a police officer said. Finally, he was arrested on Friday.
