The long-pending demand of the people of Subrahmanya and Madikeri is development of Kadamakal -Galibeedu road.

With the development of the road, the pilgrims can reach Subrahmanya and Dharmasthala at a shorter distance. However, owing to the negligence of the government and stiff opposition by the environmentalists, the demand for the road has remained a dream.

Senior member of the village Y P Prabhakar Yaladalu said that the people of Subrahmanya were walking to Madikeri using the road 50 years ago.

The same road leads to Tappal in Madikeri. The road was developed through shramadaan in 1994. Subrahmanya resident Subbaiah A K said that the stretch will provide easy connectivity to Subrahmanya.

The pilgrims from Madikeri-Galibeedu were taking part in Subrahmanya temple annual fair in the past. The people of the region will be benefited if the road was developed, he added.
