It was the couple's anniversary, daughter's birthday

 On Saturday, Mahantesh’s family members decided to shift him to a speciality hospital hoping it would fasten the process of recovery.

But that was not to be. Mahantesh’s condition worsened on Saturday, preventing them from shifting him. The family spent anxious moments through Saturday night. Ironically, Saturday was Mahantesh and Purnima’s 16th wedding anniversary and also their older daughter Ragini’s birthday.

Early Sunday morning, Mahantesh suffered a massive cardiac arrest and doctors’ attempts to revive him failed.

Mahantesh is survived by his aged parents Puttanaiah, 75, a retired senior official with the Karantaka Municipal Corporation; Vijayamma, 65; his wife Purnima, 42 and daughters Ragini, 10, and Deepika, 8.

The body was shifted to the nearby Bowring Hospital where an autopsy was conducted. The body was later taken to his house in Vittalanagar, Chamarajpet.

The burial was conducted at the nearby cremation grounds in Vittalanagar in the evening.
