Hit by bus, woman dies

A senior citizen died on the spot after she was hit by a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus near Shidlaghatta Circle on Monday.

The woman was crossing the road at the Circle at around 1 pm on Monday. The bus, rushing out of the old bus stand, rammed her. The woman was seriously injured and died on the spot, said the police.

The woman has not been identified. A polythene bag, which the woman carried, had a tag, with the name Nagamma Hosahalli. Search is on at Hosahalli for people who could be her relatives, said the police.

The public assaulted the driver of the bus. The ambulance took more than half an hour to come to the accident spot, irking the people further. They also accused authorities concerned of negligence regarding repeated accidents on roads.
