The East Delhi Municipal Corporation has taken action against illegal dairies and seized 44 animals from Shahdara (north zone) on Wednesday.
The raids were conducted by the veterinary services department in Arvind Nagar, Gamri Extension, Gautam Vihar, Usmanpur and Subhas Mohalla with the help of police. At least 26 illegal dairies were also vacated by the corporation.
Similarly, South Delhi Municipal Corporation also took action against illegal dairies in Rajapuri, Raj Nagar-1, Brahampuri, Nala Basti, Janta Colony Shivaji Vihar and Raghuvir Nagar and sealed 22 illegal dairies and seized nine animals from them.
Three illegal dairies have also been removed and seven persons vacated the dairy premises themselves. The animals seized have been sent to the Timarpur cattle pond.
