Judge A N Venugopala Gowda in his interim order has directed the state not to implement the government order.

The Government order dated April 21, had stated that with the exception of students whose parents are transferred, no other student could seek a transfer to other colleges. An appeal had been filed by Karnataka Minorities Institutions Management Federation in this regard.

Order on LPG kits stayed

The Government order making it mandatory to install LPG kits in autorickshaws in Dakshina Kannada district has been stayed by the High Court.

Justice A N Venugopala Gowda who heard a petition filed by BMS Auto Drivers and Owners Association gave a stay on the October 7 order. The petitioners said that were no sufficient gas filling stations in Puttur and this had been brought to the notice of the Government by the Regional Transport Office.

Despite this, the government had issued the order and further said that in case the autos were not installed with LPG kits, then the drivers’ license would not be renewed.
