Two killed in jumbo attack

Two workers were killed in separate incidents of elephant attacks in the Ayirasuli and Mavukallu reserve forests near Tithimathi on Thursday night.

P S Govinda, 47 - a resident of Ayirasuli jungle hadi and working with the Nagarahole wildlife division - was on his way home after work when a jumbo attacked him.

A severely injured Govinda was rushed to the Madikeri hospital, where he breathed his last.

In the other incident, J K Rajanna, of Kokkehadi Reshmehadlu near Tithimathi, died on the spot when an elephant attacked him, while he was returning home after a festival at Bhadragola in Devarapura.
