Guhyya, is a small hamlet situated few kilometres away from river Cauvery. However, the villagers are facing acute shortage of water in the second ward of the village.

The villagers are depending on a small stream of water.

The estate labourers in Hosoklu Muthanna and Medeera Bheemayya lanes are facing a lot of inconvenience due to acute shortage of water. The only borwell in the village has become defunct for the last seven months. The villagers said that the authorities have failed to respond to the woes of the village and repair the borewell.

A water tank was constructed to supply water to the villagers recently. However, the work on electricity connection to the tank, to supply water is moving in a snail’s pace.
Chescom has submitted a detailed report to its head office to get 24 electric poles and needed materials to provide electricity connection to the water tank to distribute water.

Zilla Panchayat member M S Venkatesh said the water woes will be solved at the earliest.
