'Cong hub of confusions'

Last Updated 06 June 2012, 18:06 IST

Home Minister R Ashoka expressed confidence of BJP sweeping away the Legislative Council polls that will be held for the graduates’ and the teachers’ constituency.

Speaking to media persons in Udupi on Wednesday, Home Minister said these two constituencies always remained the domain of BJP and the party workers are working hard to ensure the victory. He alleged that the independent candidates are involved in spreading negative aspects about the BJP candidates out of fear of loosing the polls. The BJP will win all the six seats as government has always worked for the betterment of the teachers and graduates. Government will take care of the remaining needs of the teachers and graduates, he assured.

He said it is not possible for the Congress candidates to win as the Congress has become a hub of uncertainties and confusions. “They had problems even in choosing the candidates. All attempts have been made to convince Siddharammaiah to take back his resignation,” said Ashoka.

Stating that people in Karnataka are very much conscious about law and order, Home Minister said his ministry has issued directions to the Police Department and Transport Department not to harass people to follow the Supreme Court order with regard to the removal of tinted glass of the four wheelers. There should not be forcible implementation of law and order. As the law is newly implemented, it is indeed necessary to convince the people over it and department officials should cooperate with the people. It takes some time, he added.

He also said attempts are being made to solve the issue with Court order pending over running KSRTC buses on par with private buses in Dakshina Kannada district.
He said the issue is struck as the Court has issued the order not permitting KSRTC buses to pass and run within city limits. “I have spoken to the DK District Commissioner to find ways to sort out the issue and also to file petition in court demanding the plying of KSRTC buses within city.”
