Varun Gandhi to attend a charity gala at Houston

Gandhi, 29, will be a keynote speaker at Indo American Charity Foundation's 21st Annual Gala fundraiser to be held on Saturday.

IACF is a non-profit organisation that raises funds for various humanitarian endeavours helping those in need of health, education and human services.
The name of Varun Gandhi has generated a lot interest among the people here, especially donors who are curious to meet the son of BJP MP Menaka Gandhi and late Sanjay Gandhi, the organisers said.

The organisers expect the gala to be housefull and hope to raise huge funds through the event which has otherwise been slow this year due to the current recession.
"The need for donations has increased dramatically and we strive to meet our fundraising goal this year, believing that we will meet the needs," said IACF President Rachel Varghese.

"There's no mistaking the lure of the Gandhi name, the family generated enough interest similar to what I had seen here in US with the Kennedy family," said Varghese.
