Scrat is in town

In the unbearable summer heat, the kids got not just respite but also a chance to make their dreams come true when they recently met the adorable character of squirrel -  Scrat the Squeak from Ice Age 4 at DLF Promenade  as part of their ongoing Summer Fiesta.


Straight from US, the squirrel was welcomed in India with great pomp and show with the mall decorated right from the entrance to the atrium on the lines of the film, Ice Age 4.

To meet and greet this larger-than-life character, kids from all over Delhi and NCR thronged the mall to meet Scrat. Just experiencing the thrill to see their favourite character was immense for the kids whose joy knew no bounds when Scrat entered the mall and shook hands with each one of them.

As he danced and shook a leg with kids, the young ones danced with him and got themselves clicked. The 45-minute performance left the kids in a state of awe.

Dinaz Madhukar, vice president and mall head said, “This season, the summer carnival at the mall promises many exciting games and engagements to its patrons. During summer, everyone is looking at innovative ways to indulge themselves and their kids.

Our Summer Carnival, in association with 20th Century Fox is our endeavor to present something different and novel to our patrons.

Ice Age 4 is one of the much-awaited movies of the season and we are delighted to associate with Fox for our grand Summer Carnival.”

The summer extravaganza will have weekday activities that will be more exciting for youngsters. They will include emcee interactions, The Ice Age Scavenger Hunt, Dance Tutorials and Meet and Greet the Characters.

The Emcee Interactions will engage the kids and shoppers in a quiz with instant prizes. The Ice Age Scavenger Hunt is interactive as children will be engrossed in collecting as many nuts as possible from all over the mall. Hints will be given to kids who can then go to various locations in the mall to find the nuts, much like Scrat in the movie.

Each nut will entitle them to points that can be rede­e­med against merchandise. One can also play Musical Chairs over weekends from 8th to 30th June between 7 and 8 p.m. For those of you who missed meeting Scrat, he will be revisiting the mall again on June 16 and 23.
