Referring to the news reports of Chinese incursions into Indian territory and the unwarranted firing by Pakistani army at the Indian security personnel and the dumping of dangerous wastes inside India Jayalalithaa said: "What is pathetic about the present UPA coalition Government at the Centre is that even before the offending nations have got into the denial mode, the Indian Government has stretched itself to handout clean chits to the neighbouring countries."

She said India has always given the impression of being a soft State.  Successive Indian Governments have allowed themselves to be bullied by practically all our neighbours - China, Pakistan, Bangladesh and even the tiny Sri Lanka.

Referring to the influx of refugees she said the demography of most of the border States of the North-East has been so drastically altered that in many of them, outsiders outnumber the locals, putting tremendous strain on local resources.

"Border fencing projects have been accorded very low priority.  Border patrolling is non-existent and our borders have earned the reputation of being the most porous in the world."
