<p>Aspirant of presidential polls for Akhila Karnataka Brahmana Mahasabha R Lakshmikanth said election would be held on June 17 for Mysore region.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Addressing a press meet here on Saturday, he said election for Mysore region comprising of Mandya, Kodagu, Chamarajanagar and Mysore would be held in city at Mahila Samaja, Krishnamurthypuram from 9 am to 2 pm. <br /><br />Simultaneously polls would be conducted at Shimoga at Brahmana Seva Sangha on Kote road. <br />Lakshmikanth said the election is being conducted due to the demise of president C V L Shastry recently. <br /><br />The mahasabha is conducting various programmes to aid the needy students and senior citizens. <br />Matrimonial services which are organised in all district centres are successful in creating harmony within the community. <br /><br />“It is also weeding out the internal conflicts within the Brahmin community,” he added.<br />Lakshmikanth who is presently the general secretary of mahasabha said among more than 30 lakh belonging to the caste, 27,500 are members of the mahasabha.
