Municipal council locks unauthorised buildings

Joint Director of Municipal Administration Department, B B Kaveri, who visited the City, inspected the buildings in M G Market alleged to have been constructed unauthorisedly and directed the Municipal Commissioner to lock the premises. As the owners resisted the move, the task was carried out with police assistance. The Commissioner said that the buildings will be taken into possession on Saturday.

Public had submitted complaints to the Joint Director of Municipal Administration alleging that several buildings have been constructed in prime localities of the City without obtaining statutory sanctions and thus causing revenue loss to the tune of crores of rupees to the local body. The Joint Commissioner went through the records at the City Municipal Council before initiating action.
