Last Updated 14 July 2012, 18:32 IST

A group of Naxals paid a visit to yet another house at Sudegundi near Shishila in Uppinangady, on Friday night and have taken away rice and other grocery for cooking purpose.

The team visited the house of a farmer at Sudegundi and have taken away 50 kg rice, sugar, tea powder and chilly. The armed gang with four men and a woman had visited the house and said that they will not harm the inmates of the house and asked them to provide 50 kg rice, and other cooking materials. The gang also urged the family members not to inform the police on their visit. They spoke in Tulu.

Looking at gun in their hand, the family head had said that he too owns a gun, which was different from the guns they have. The gang had spent about one and half hours in the house.

As the news of Naxals visiting the house began to spread, ASP Anucheth visited the house and confirmed the visit of a gang. The ASP team has been carrying out combing operation in forest at Miyar.

It may be recalled that a group of Naxals had visited Ammudange Mucchiradka colony on June 10. Sudegundi is two kilometres away from Ammudange Mucchiradka colony . The ASP was not reachable for the comment.
