Says Narain, who’s excited about the characters he will be essaying in his future projects.Villainy is not all black, it has several nuances and shades. Actor Narain has proved this with the villainous character that he plays in the Tamil film Mugamoodi. The film is slated to release next month.

Narain has always been noticed for the different characters he plays.
And he’s mighty thrilled about his role in Mugamoodi. “I play a totally negative role and I agreed to do the project for Mysskin, the director, who is known for his excellent conceptualisation of characters.

I think this character will give me a big break,” Narain says.Narain says he dedicated close to a year for this project and did not commit to anything else. But the actor is not complaining. “We’ve incorporated a few Chinese martial art forms in the film and some of us had to learn the martial art form called Wing Chum. It was all new to me and it took me a while to settle in. I hurt my leg in the process and I am still undergoing physiotherapy for the same. But all said and done, working in the project was worth every minute,” adds Narain.

About his character in the film, Narain says, “The real villain in me comes out in the character. My name in the film is Anguchamy, it is as curious and unpredictable as the character.” Narain points out that although Mugamoodi is a superhero film, ordinary people can relate to the characters in the film. “It’s just that, here, the superhero (played by Jiiva) doesn’t fly,” he laughs.

After this film, Narain will start shooting for an untitled Malayalam film by Lal Jose. “I’ve had some hectic shooting schedules, literally hopping from one industry to another but I am enjoying the pressure. It’s nice to have my hands full,” he says.

Narain doesn’t want to reveal whether he is playing a thief or a police in the project titled, ‘Jewel Thief’. “That’s a suspense and I would like to keep it that way,” he notes. Narain chooses to call himself an intense and sensitive actor, “Off screen, I am totally chilled out but I am serious about my work. I’d like to give every new project my best shot. I have five projects in hand and I can’t ask for anything more,” he wraps up.
