JOIN USThe first-year PUC students of Maharani Lakshmi Ammani College for women were thrilled to enter a new threshold in their lives as they started classes. More than being excited, the students were content to pursue what they liked the best and what they had an interest in.
“The good part about college is that we get to do what we like the most, unlike school where we have to study all the subjects. I have chosen arts and I always wanted to pursue it. Also, I feel college is fun — there is so much to do and so many new avenues to explore. It’s challenging as well as exciting,” said Krithika, a first-year student.
Sanjana, another first-year student, said that college is a whole new experience and it is an exciting phase in her life. “To be frank I am completely thrilled to be in college. I have come from a completely different background and I am loving each and every moment of being in college, as I know that these years will pass by soon. My parents are thrilled and feel that I should make the most of my college days,” she added.
Many also said that they were looking forward to honing their skills and were ready to explore various avenues in college. “Since we get more freedom than what we got in school, we can utilise the opportunity to explore new avenues in college. I am very keen on participating in extracurricular activities and feel that all of us should do that,” said Deepa, another first-year student.
Some said that they already felt a little grown up after they have joined college and that their responsibilities have increased and they need to perform better.
“I feel more responsible in college, there is also the pressure to perform better. However it’s up to the student to manage everything and perform better,” added Sanjana.
While most were missing their school friends, they were also quite thrilled to make new ones and felt that college is a platform where students get an opportunity to meet new people.
For now, the students are making the most of the opportunities they are getting in college.
