Just 41 MBBS and 508 BDS seats are left as the first round of counselling conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (Comed-K) ended here on Sunday.

Eighty Christian- and 19 Tulu-minority MBBS seats (only for Karnataka students) were available when the second day of the counselling began on Sunday.

All that remain now are 38 seats under Christian- and three seats under Tulu-minority categories (only for Karnataka candidates), according to the Comed-K Chief Executive, A S Srikanth. All seats in  general merit category were picked on the first day itself.

The scenario is brighter in the dental stream. The day had begun with 706 GM and 20 seats each under Christian- and Tulu-minority categories (only for Karnataka students).

While 238 seats under GM were taken, reducing its total to 468, none of the 20 seats each under Christian and Tulu minority categories (only for Karnataka students) was picked.

A total of 695 MBBS and 748 BDS seats were on offer when the counselling commenced on Saturday. An MBBS seat costs Rs 3,57,500 and BDS Rs 2.53 lakh.
