Repair roads

The Amruthahalli - Srirampura Telecom Layout Railway Gate Road is in a very bad condition. The pipeline work in the layout is complete, but the road remains unrepaired.

Roads remain unserviced ever since it came under the BBMP limits even though many BMTC buses and lorries ply on this road. The area also lacks a post office and a bank, though located in the vicinity of the proposed Arkavathy Layout and Winnfield garden.

The buses should to ply through the seventh cross of the layout instead of the other roads in the layout. This would ease the traffic congestion in the area when the Srirampura Railway Gate is closed.

The soil around a manhole near the fifth cross of Shirdi Saibaba Road in Cambridge Layout is caving in.The asphalt on the road is ruptured and the surface is sinking. School children and those visiting Saibaba Mandir use this road regularly and may inadvertently step on it.

The area comes under BBMP ward No 112 and BWSSB sub division E2. The BBMP and BWSSB is requested to take immediate steps and prevent untoward incidents.

Open BSNL service centre

HSR Layout lacks a BSNL customer service centre. Anybody seeking a landline or internet connection has to go all the way to BDA complex in Koramangala to submit the application. Any grievances regarding billing and others have to be rectified in the same office.

The work timings of the BSNL customer service centres between 10 am and 5 pm is also inconvenient to the office going people. It will be beneficial to the customers if the timings are extended. The residents of HSR Layout request the authorities to open a customer service centre.

Ply more buses

BMTC authorities should introduce additional buses to Horamavu. At present, four buses ply on this route once an hour. These buses are so crowded that many of them have to travel on footboard. The authorities should take immediate action.

Brundavan Layout,

The residents of JP Nagar 5th Phase who want to travel to Jayanagar 4th block and beyond do not have a direct bus service currently. Commuters have to go to JP Nagar 3rd Phase to catch a bus. BMTC should look into operating direct buses from JP Nagar 3rd phase through JP Nagar 5th phase. Secondly, residents from JP Nagar 6th to 3rd phase will benefit if Volvo bus service is introduced  towards ITPL and other areas along outer ring road. The concerned authorities should take action at the earliest.

Reroute high tension wire

A high tension wire passes through the foliage of an old tree located between house numbers 3486 and 3487 on 14th Main in HAL second stage.

The wire may pose risk to anyone coming in contact with it, especially during rain.

The roots of the tree have also spread out into the compounds of the houses.

The electricity pole next to the tree is also tilted towards the houses, increasing the danger.

The residents request the authorities to cut the branches of the tree and reroute the high tension wire.

Temples take over park

The Nehru Park (ground) next to Seshadripuram Post Office has been encroached and two temples have been built inside it adjacent to the footpath.

The entire footpath and a part of the road has been made out of bounds.

There is a two-storey posh building behind the temple where the priests live with their families.

The BBMP authorities should take immediate action against them.

Replace sewerage pipes

The residents of Krishnanagar Layout under Uttarahalli Ward No.198 have been demanding the replacement of old and dilapidated sewerage pipes with  pipelines of wider dimension. The existing lines were laid 16 years ago, with the residents contributing the cost.

As several new apartments have come up in the area, the existing sewerage lines have become inadequate.  During rains, the pipes and chambers are clogged and drainage water overflows on to the roads. Many houses are often flooded with sewerage water. The corporator, the MLA  and the BWSSB officials of the ward were requested to lay underground drainage lines to meet the growing requirements of the layout.

The authorities had informed the residents that the work on laying of new pipelines would commence last January, but nothing has been done so far.
The BWSSB authorities should take action at the earliest.
