Patient Agarwal bolsters Prez XI

Right-hander hits 246-ball 91 n.o.

Mayank Agarwal shed his attacking instincts to get himself closer to a well-deserved century as KSCA President’s XI reached a healthy 230 for three against Baroda Cricket Association at close on the opening day of their four-day match in the all-India invitational tournament for the Safi Darashah Trophy tournament here at the BGS ground on Monday.

The right-hander, known for his aggressive approach, showed he can knuckle down and anchor the innings during his 246-ball stay on the day which was cut short to 80 overs due to combination of rain and bad light.

The youngster was batting on 91 with the help of 10 hits to the fence and helped President’s XI raise 148 runs for the third wicket with skipper Sunil Raju (76, 156b, 7x4). Pawan Deshpande (39 batting, 44b, 6x4) exhibited some urgency towards the end of the day to provide some impetus to the innings.
