Education needs to be part of tourism: Ravi

Mysore City Corporation (MCC) commissioner M R Ravi said tourism shouldn’t be limited to entertainment, but also include education.  

He was speaking at the inauguration of university-level history workshop on tourism at Maharani’s Arts and Commerce College here on Monday. Mentioning that the city was renowned for tourism, he said the workshop would help lecturers as tourism is an integral part of our lives. In order to bring out tourism in the form of a book, it takes 60 years. Tourism helps in the overall development of society.

It is important to study effects of tourism, he added. MLC Marithibbegowda, Marimallappa’s First Grade College principal Prof N Savithri and Maharani Arts and Commerce College in-charge principal Johnson Ratnakumar were present.
