Triple murder case: Three policemen suspended

Three policemen were suspended on charges of negligence after three members of a family were shot dead in Jaitpur town, police said here today.

The SSP has sent the three policemen, including station officer, of Sahjanwa Police station, to police lines, they said.

Police said a cattle fair is organised in the town every Thursday which the locals have protested against.

Last evening when the cattle was being unloaded from a vehicle in front of the house of Ranjeet Pandey, he opposed it.

Enraged over it, a contractor and his accomplices allegedly opened fired on Ranjeet, and his two sons Manoj (38) and Vinod (33).

Ranjeet, who was disabled, died on the spot in his wheel chair while Manoj and Vinod succumbed to wounds on way to the district hospital, the police said.

The police late night arrested Veer Bahadur Yadav, who was injured in the retaliatory firing by Manoj and Vinod.
