Mandir Marg traffic diversions for months

Last Updated 16 August 2012, 20:35 IST

Due to construction work of the upcoming subway at Mandir Marg-Peshwa Road T-junction near Connaught Place, traffic would be diverted for several months from Friday midnight.

The subway is being constructed by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

“As per the traffic diversion plan, traffic movement on Mandir Marg will be one way from Kali Bari intersection to Panchkuian Road. The area in front of NP Boys Senior Secondary School and Harcourt Butler Senior Secondary School will be barricaded,” said a DIMTS spokesperson.

Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS) are the consultants for the subway project.

“Traffic coming from Peshwa Road may take a right turn at the Mandir Marg-Peshwa Road T-junction and proceed towards Panchkuian Road. No left turn will be allowed at this junction for incoming traffic from Peshwa Road side,” the spokesperson added.

Vehicles coming from Panchkuian Road side may take the RK Ashram Marg for going towards Park Street/Shankar Road.

Access for the visitors to Mandir Marg from Panchkuian Road side and for school buses from Park Street/Kali Bari Marg side will be provided through U-Turn at both ends, the DIMTS official said.
