Elected representatives took Chamundeshwari Electrical Supply Corporation (Cesc) officials to task at the quarterly review meeting at zilla panchayat here recently.
Raising the issue, MLA C S Puttaraju said Cesc has imposed penalty on grama panchayats for drinking water schemes. He reminded them that former district in-charge minister had said that no penalty should be imposed on drinking water schemes. He demanded that Cesc withdraw the penalty.
MLA A B Ramesh Babu said Cesc officials were not replacing the burnt transformers in his constituency. He said Srirangapatna should be made into a separate division for executing the projects. City municipal council president M P Arunkumar said Rs six lakh has been spent on relocating the electricity poles. But, the work hasn’t been completed.
District in-charge minister C P Yogeeshwara said a separate meeting would be held next week on issues related to electricity. KPTCL manager would also participate in the meeting.
MLAs M Srinivas, B Ramakrishna, MUDA president Basavegowda, zilla panchayat president M T Suresh, vice-president Lalitha Prakash, deputy commissioner B N Krishnaiah, zilla panchayat CEO P C Jayanna, SP Koushalendra Kumar and others were present.
