Overwhelming response to Janasamparka programme

Next public contact programme in Kutta on Sept 29: Speaker

Hundreds of people thronged to the Janasamparka meeting held at Government PU College premises on Saturday seeking solution for their various problems including pending monthly honorarium, title deeds and other facilities from the government.

District-in-Charge Minister M P Appachu Ranjan while addressing the gathering after unfurling tri colour flag at Independence Day celebrations had announced that the government will take its administration to the door steps of the people through Janasamparka programmes. Accordingly, the first public contact programme was held at Suntikoppa on Saturday. All those who were running from pillar to post to avail the facilities, were seen eagerly waiting for their turn to get the facilities.

After inaugurating the programme, Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah said “former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa had started public contact programme to take the facilities to the people. Similar public contact programmes should be held in all the districts.”  

Next meet in Kutta

The Speaker said that similar public contact programme will be held at Kutta in Srimangala hobli on September 29.

Basic facilities

Minister Appachu Ranjan said that as per the direction of the Supreme Court and the Union government, basic facilities are being provided to the forest dwellers of Balegundi haadi near Valnoor Thyagathoor. However, some miscreants are opposed to the move.

The forest dwellers are provided with basic infrastructure facilities under Forest Rights Act. Some are against taking up development work in Devarakaadu. However, the RTC of Devarakaadu mentions the land as government land. Legal action will be initiated against those who come in the way of laying road as per the direction of the Supreme Court and the Union government, he warned.

Beneficiaries of Sandya Suraksha scheme, national security scheme, widow pension, honorarium for physically challenged, ashraya yojana, Indira awarz yojana, bhagyalakshmi bond, equipments for physically challenged, tablets for malnourished kids, fodder kits, bee house for farmers, ID card for physically challenged, sewing machines were distributed.

Somwarpet TP President V K Lokesh, ZP members Bharathish, Sandesh, Ballaranda Mani Uthappa and others were present.
