Firm booked for stealing power worth Rs 4 crore

The vigilance squad of the Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company (Gescom) has detected theft of power worth Rs 4.07 crore by Bhadrashri Steels and Power Limited at Kunikeri in the taluk.

Gescom officials claim the amount involved is the largest ever for power theft anywhere in the State. Balaji Singh of the Munirabad division of Gescom told Deccan Herald that the company had been stealing power for the past six months bypassing the current transformer. A case has been registered against the company.
