Three workers of the Jindal Steel Works factory were killed on Sunday when the pipe on the conveyor belt carrying sponge iron snapped and hot iron fell on them.
The accident occurred at unit 2 of the factory near Toranagal near here. R S Veerabhadra, 23, resident of Udegola of Siraguppa taluk, Hanumantha Gowda, 22, of Kushtagi in Koppal district, and Shashibhushan Patrao, 21, a native of Odisha, are the dead. Erriswamy, of Talur in Sandur taluk, was seriously injured and was admitted into Sanjeevini Hospital on the factory premises.
