JOIN USThree sex workers, who hail from Uzbekistan, a pimp and three customers were arrested in south east Delhi posh locality Greater Kailash on Monday, police said.
“All the arrested girls are citizens of Uzbekistan and are in the age group of 21 to 25,” said additional commissioner of police (south east) Ajay Chaudhary.
The sex racket was run by Ajay, the pimp in rented accommodation. Ajay has been staying in Delhi since the last three to four years and is originally fro Haryana. He facilitated the visit and stay of the Uzbekistan nationals in Delhi on a tourist visa.
Police said they had a tip-off that three Uzbek women were staying at rented accommodation in Greater Kailash Part-II without valid travel documents and that they were involved in a sex racket.
“Working on the information, a deal was struck through a decoy customer and the women were apprehended. Other then the women, Raju Paswan an associate of Ajay, and three customers – Mohammad Imran, Sem Ahmed and Sahjad Khan were also apprehended,” said Chaudhary All the three customers hail from Old Delhi area.
The seven accused persons were arrested under the appropriate sections of The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 and the Foreigner’s Act.
During investigation, police found that Ajay had been operating the international flesh trade in Delhi and since the last three years. He had taken the Greater Kailash Part-II house on rent. Some of his girls lived in this house while some others lived in other parts of south Delhi.
He has been arranging for women from Uzbekistan to be bought to Delhi on a regular basis and provides for their transport and accommodation in the city, said the officer.
He charged between Rs 4,000 to Rs 8,000 for a night with the women. The Uzbek Embassy in Chanakya Puri has been intimated regarding the arrest of their nationals.
“The main pimp Ajay is absconding. Efforts are being made to apprehend him,” Chaudhary.
