<p>The south zone office of East Delhi Municipal Corporation will soon be transformed into a swanky office as the civic body is all set to finalise its architectural design by the end of this month.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The East Corporation had conducted an architectural design contest and received 32 entries of different designs. The winner of the contest will be selected from the top five designs by a panel of architects and civic body officials.<br /><br />“The only condition which was put before the architects was that they had to incorporate the existing office building within the design,” said East Corporation commissioner, S S Yadav. <br /><br />“Once the final model is selected, tender process will start. We are likely to complete the process by January end.” <br /><br />The new office building, which will create a space of 1.5 lakh square feet, is likely to cost Rs 90 crore. The civic body intends to generate revenue from the property as it will lease out a portion of it.<br /><br />“While 50 per cent of the property will be leased out, 10 per cent of the remaining will also be open for commercial use. Only 40 per cent of the total space will be occupied by the civic body for office use,” Yadav said.</p>
